Profile
G2-0279: Hai Rong
Name: Hai Rong
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Height: 3’09”
Ability: Toxic Chain
Nature: Adamant
Personality: While through first impressions Hai Rong can come off as quite charming, to anyone able to delve any further this herald is a manipulative, vain, and cruel Pokémon.
His sharp wit and good looks allow him to be quite charismatic, giving him avenues to take advantage of others to satisfy his greed; anything he wants, important or on a whim, he’ll take - whether by force or by trickery.
He has an eye for shiny and valuable objects, and little patience for things that do not meet his standards. As he can be quite stubborn, those standards are unlikely to change any time soon, with his vindictive nature coming out in full force when faced with Pokémon he finds truly pathetic. He greatly enjoys taunting and 'playing' with those he considers to be weak.
If his determination was set towards a helpful goal Hai Rong could be considered a very powerful ally; make the right deal with him, and one could have practically anything they wanted, but his fierce will is always bent on serving himself. He will do his best to cut corners when doing things for others, using trickery to technically fulfill the terms of a deal when bare minimum effort won't cut it.
While he is extremely self assured, a certain incident in his past has left him very paranoid about getting truly cocky. He is constantly analysing everyone he meets, sizing them up to determine whether they can be useful to him and if they might harm him. A lot of effort goes into keeping up a facade of perfect control for him.
He puts himself above all others and believes it is his right to step over them to have his way. His selfishness combined with his cunning makes for a horrible combination for those he considers weak enough to take advantage of.
For the few he considers worthy of his legitimate company, he delights in their cruelty and misdeeds as much as he does his own. Keeping the strong and the wicked by his side keeps him safe from them, after all.
History: Hands, so many hands; grasping, pleading, praying. Stroking his fins, taking locks of his hair or touching his Soul Gem in the hopes their wishes would be granted. How curious it was, for such a young Pichu to have all these Pokémon begging for him to solve all their problems.
Hai Rong never had the opportunity to hide his status as a Herald; for as long as he could remember he has been surrounded by a cult who believed that the Legends would answer their prayers through him. It was strange to him, having Pokémon so much older and more powerful than him grovelling at his knees for answers, wants, and needs, despite it being all he’d ever known; the same Pokémon who treated him as a God would try to establish themselves as authority figures in the same breath. Strangest of all were his parents, who clearly loved their role as high priests and the tithes they recieved thanks to him, but failed to extend that to Hai Rong himself. It was impossible to consider them leaders like they wished to be in his life when they were just another pair of incompetent parasites relying on him.
He knew his role and played it well, initially pretending to be serene and silent until he learned what the Pokémon around him wanted him to say.
He was always in someone’s company, but never had a true companion; it always went back to what he, or the Legends, could do for them. Some pretended longer than others - they were always his favourites, those willing to put in the effort to manipulate him. Sometimes he was even tempted to let them trick him, if only for a while.
Even during his time being worshipped, he would often go outside the cult to offer his 'services' to others in exchange for satisfying his whims. But the cult ran out of steam almost as quickly as it had sprung up; those who learned more about Munkidori found there was nothing to worship, cultists were never satisfied despite Hai Rong doing his best to answer their prayers, and emotionally intelligent members of the faith could see the cynicism and predatory nature Hai Rong was growing to hold. Those who looked into his 'miracles' outside of the faith found a path of ruin and destruction in his wake. He set out into the world quite young, but was always able to thrive thanks to the manipulative skills he picked up through his cult and a cunning voice in the back of his head. The voice of a being who spent lifetimes kneeling, and now wants to rule.
He preyed on the weak; the young, the lost, the sickly, the suffering. All he had to do was offer them what they wanted, and he could have anything in return, just like it had been back home.
The voice in his head rarely steered him wrong, growing his ego as his Faustian deals destroyed lives to fuel his needs and wants. Eventually he tricked his way into receiving a class 2 absol egg, raising Li himself to use her powers to find vulnerable Pokémon. He ignored that voice exactly once, and paid dearly for it; his encounter with Persephone, mistaking her for an ordinary grieving mother, left him with grave wounds to both his body and his psyche.
Hoping to blend in and avoid Persephone, and properly appraise his potential 'business associates' so that he never needs to face such humiliation and pain again, he has recently resolved to join a clan.

Aqua Tail - The user attacks by swinging its tail as if it were a vicious wave in a raging storm.
Funfacts:
- Hai Rong's hair is naturally white, but he began dying it as a Pikachu fearing the look might age him.
- He always stands somewhat on an angle to show his un-injured side first. Having his beauty marred fills him with bitterness, and he hates the fact he cannot hide it.
- He is a musician in his spare time and has learnt to play multiple instruments; the harp, the violin and the piano.
- He keeps an expansive collection of treasures obtained through his deals.
- His beauty sleep is very important to him; if he misses a wink of it, his dark circles can rival Munkidori's.
- Hai Rong despises having people invade his personal space, but also thinks of everyone else's personal space as free game. After all, they should be honoured that a herald such as himself would deem them worthy of closeness.
