Epiales (Ep - Pee - ow- les) takes an almost sadistic enjoyment from turning pleasant dreams into nightmares. He has a hatred for most Pokemon because he claims to have seen the worst of them in their dreams. Individualistic, brooding, and solitary by nature, Epiales is a gloomy individual to be around. 

He feeds on the nightmares of Pokemon, and his appetite for bad dreams grows stronger as the moon wanes. He can cause others' dreams to turn to nightmares just from his presence alone. Even his dreams are always unpleasant, and hellish, revealing his worst fears. Nonetheless, he has grown numb to watching his horrors play out in his dreams, part of him believes Darkrai gets a kick out of it. It’s also within his nightmares, he can communicate freely with Darkrai.

Epiales doesn’t like getting caught up in conflicts, preferring to watch from the sidelines or just not be there at all. If a situation gets too hairy he isn’t above just running away to live another day, which can cause others to see him as a coward. He’s not afraid to speak his mind, because he doesn’t care in the slightest about impressing anyone. In essence, Epiales is always in it for his own personal gain, doesn’t care about others, and wants to be left alone.
