Profile G2-0096: Vexen

「𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲」

Thrust into the world too soon, Vexen was nothing more than an attempt to give Venom someone to play with, as he was already much too large and unruly to safely interact with their mother. Astrid and Timber were kind parents to her, however the latter was very seldome home due to long and grueling work hours. While home, Astrid was unfortunately not much more of a mother, which left Vex at the liberty of Venom. He treated her more as a toy than a sister, she she truly believed this was what it meant to be a sibling. At the end of the day, they were always fed and had a roof over their heads, which was enough for their absent parents.

When Vex was 3, their younger brother, Veselin, was born. As it was her turn to experience being an older sister, her worldview had begun to crack - she felt only love and the strength to protect Ves with her life if need be. As the years went on, Vex put up less and less with Venom's treatment of her. She expected no help from Astrid nor Timber, though she did not hide her anger towards them at their indifference and neglect. 

At the age of 86 years old, Timber died in a construction accident; he had worked himself to the bone in order to to keep their financial situation afloat. Vexen was only 12 at this time, at too young of an age - however she had already needed to grow up so fast that it felt like a drop in the bucket to what she would experience next. Over the next months, Venom's mental health spiraled alongside their meager amount of savings, and in turn his behavior grew more erratic.

The day Vexen finally stood up to him, he snapped and went on a full rampage, scarring her, and, young Veselin. He didn't stop there, and went on to terrorize the rest of the town to the point that their entire family was evicted and forced to leave the town entirely. This was the final straw for Vex - taking no time to lick her wounds, she left, taking Veselin with her. She didn't care whether or not Astrid chose to stay with her monsterous brother.

Vex sought out a nearby peaceful town she was only vaguely aware of that specialized in utilizing the healing nature of water and marine life, and left Veselin in the care of an old couple in order to save his life. She stayed for a short time, but felt a calling that she was needed elsewhere, somewhere that she can save more than a single person from a tragic life. She soaked up what she could learn for a year or two and then left, her footsteps leading her to joining the guard at Central, all the way in Archaia. There, she took interest in training as a medic, and her life could truly begin.
