Profile
G2-0046: Aiko
✧ Name: Aiko
✧ Age: Born in 3537, 14 in 3551 when the main story starts
✧ Gender: Female
✧ Personality: Kind, caring, and a little naive. Aiko doesn't trust strangers, but once you show yourself to be kind, you've earned yourself a loyal friend.
✧ History: Aiko was born in Respite Village, a secluded, peaceful village on the continent of Archaia, to a lovely couple. Her parents are a Luminarian Raichu by the name of Evan, and lovely Bellossom named Eileen. She was raised to have a love of flowers and nature in general.
When Aiko was very young, her father fell ill. It's unknown as of now what he came down with, but it was slow-moving. He kept a happy face for his young child, trying to stay as active as he could. His wife, Eileen, crafted a rocking chair out of roots for him to rest in when needed, and that was how the family tended to spend their days. Eileen and Aiko gardening or tending to small groups of grass and bug type pokemon, and Evan relaxing in his chair, watching his two girls. In his downtime, Evan crafted the sunflower necklace Aiko now wears religiously.
Eventually, when Aiko is 9, the sickness became too great for Evan, and he passed fairly peacefully in his sleep. His family grieved for him, of course, but Eileen did her best to help Aiko remember the good times and celebrate his life rather than mourn his death. Her mother crafted a small statue that resides in their front yard to memorialize him.
Aiko's best friend growing up is Lottie, an adventurous pichu that doesn't let Aiko get too boring. In return, Aiko helps keep Lottie from getting hurt or going on adventures that could end poorly. The pair balance each other out very well.
Even with her happy family and great friend, Aiko felt something was missing. She wondered why there was a gnawing hole inside her that grew every time her father referred to her as "my boy," or her mother said she was lucky to have "such a wonderful son." A while after her father passed, Aiko spent a lot of time self-reflecting (at least as much as one can at 11 years old), and she realized she might not be a boy. She might not be her mother's son. Maybe... maybe she was Eileen's daughter instead? Was that allowed? She talked through it with Lottie, and with Lottie's support, shyly went to Eileen. After explaining her feelings and expressing that she was, in fact, a girl, Eileen grinned and hugged her tight, offering her full support as well. The two share a tearful evening, Aiko feeling so happy she can be true to herself and Eileen feeling so grateful her child trusted her enough to be so honest.
Aiko and Lottie catch wind of the alleged prophecy, both talking excitedly amongst themselves about wanting to help and where the supposed heroes could be. After enough asking around and gossiping, they're able to nail down the locations of Mirage and Solaris. Aiko speaks excitedly about the desert and wondering what amazing plants might be found there, and how she might be able to help bring even more life to such a place. Meanwhile, Lottie seemed to have her eye set on the tower that hosted Mirage. After much talking and contemplating, the two decided it would be better for both of them--and potentially the world-- if the two split up. They had to divide and conquer. After a tearful goodbye with Eileen, and then a private one between the two friends, they both set out on their own to find the clans.
