G1-0007: Muffet
"Hi, I'm Muffet! Wanna play hy-five? You'll never guess which hand I'm gonna use!"
「BASIC INFORMATION」
Name: Muffet
Age: 26 || ???
Gender: Female
Height: 3'10" (Dire)
Type: Electric/Bug
Ability: Static/Swarm
Nature: Quirky
Characteristic: "Impetuous and silly"
Muffet is one of the many pre-luminarian — more commonly known as predecessors — that were created as apart of the first efforts to make a perfect specimen. Her drastic mutations and defects were concerning to scientist but also made them very curious, leading to much poking and prodding. Her DNA was a playground for experimentation to see what it could create and served as a reference — both on what to do and what not to do. But outside of her genetic oddities, she was otherwise very useless as she was too genial.
Muffet was locked in a cell with an intended permanent cellmate, just until they ran out of uses for her. However, the cellmates strange and untimely death led to a misconception that she consumed pokemon with no species preference. This made them more curious about what Muffet was capable of. And thus began a rotation of different cellmates over time to see how long it would take for her to 'eat' them.
Eventually, she's let out to free roam for more in-depth observation and ends up making friends with many other predecessors. She bonded especially well with Marionette — a ghost predecessors with her own peculiar capabilities — and their friendship eventually deepened into something more. They spent a lot of time together and shared many of quiet nights cuddling and communicating in their own way, as well as relating to being outcasts in amongst some of the others. Unfortunately, their special bond was short-lived and Muffet was left to grieve her beloved alongside the disruption within the predecessor group she'd gotten closer to.
Two groups formed as a result of the fallout; one that wanted to stay with Polaris and one that wanted to leave. Muffet seemingly sided with the latter, but breaks off soon after because she truthfully wanted to get away and explore the new world before her.
「FUN FACTS」
- Muffet is very physically affectionate and shows it outwardly, in various ways. If she even catches a glimpse of a friend or loved one and they're not right there, she'll jump on them as a greeting. She also picks those up smaller than her and cuddles them by rubbing her face on theirs. And lastly, she gives 'kisses' by rubbing her mandibles gently on both sides of their face. Her behavior can make it uncomfortable for others to be around her despite there being no ill intent.
- Lives in a big web in the forest with her children. Each and every one of them has a tiny 'web bed' on it that they sleep in.
- Consumes things from the people she cares about as a way to show appreciation or to honor a fallen friend. So if they give her an item or leave behind one after their death, there is a chance she may eat it.
- Is much gentler with her children, but it's based purely on maternal instinct and she is incapable of connecting the dots when she's being overboard with everyone else.
- Muffet is a protective mother while also being very loose and supportive of them. She's right there down in the dirt, just as quickly as she is to hold them and console them when they feel bad. Perhaps a bit too soft and is definitely a fun parent.
- 'Sews' clothing from her webbing and gives it to her friends. However, most of what she makes is sticky and nearly impossible to get out of without her ripping it off you or someone burning it. The only way you can get something functional is if you bring her material (like in the case of her son, Faust), but the seams will still be partially made of webbing.
- As a child, she used to play pretend and have tea parties with her many cellmates.
- Her defect is that sometimes the muscles in her body will stop working and she'll collapse, unable to get up until the episode is over. Furthermore, her regular legs are too weak for her to stand on for long periods of time.
- All eight of her eyes can blink and move independantly of one another.
- It's a rare sight to ever see her angry. But if you ever manage to get her there, she becomes intelligible and starts making various hissing and clicking noises. Once she raises her front spider legs, it's best to start running. Curiously enough, she never seems to remember whom she attacked or if she attacked at all.
- Her voice claim is Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia.
- Her Theme Song is Cosmo Sheldrake - Linger Longer.
- Her Battle Song is Undertale - Spider Dance.
